THE PROJECT:
People with albinism have little or no pigment (melanin) in their eyes, skin, and/or hair. Their skin tends to be whiter, their eyes lighter, their hair yellow and sometimes white. These characteristics do not make them different from any human being considered "normal". They are as normal as you and us, with some limitations of course, but they are still that: human beings.
Yamayra Vega | YVega Photography started a photographic project back in 2015, that consists of capturing the true beauty of albinos and capturing it in photographs that will show how beautiful and impressive they are. With it, we try to send a message of equality, and that people can see albinos from a different perspective, showing their true self. This project started in the island of Puerto Rico, but now has moved to Florida, USA; specifically, the Central Florida area.
If you know any albino: family member, friend, etc., or someone you know knows someone who is albino and so on, let them know about this project!
